Carrie left a career in corporate America nearly two decades ago and has since been honing her skills as a silk painter. Originally working out of a 100-square-foot home studio in the Old West End of Muncie, Indiana, in 2023 she and Dan moved her studio and gallery five blocks east into Muncie’s downtown historic Murray Building. She is constantly exploring new ways of expressing ideas through her art. Being a student of multiple disciplines, Carrie feels absolute freedom to combine ancient and completely innovative silk painting techniques. "I'm always thinking about light, how we experience light as color, and how different patterns of color evoke different emotional responses in all of us. Because silk reflects far more light than it absorbs, I find it to be the perfect medium for using color and pattern to communicate my thoughts and emotions." Carrie's art is finally winning awards, selling well and since 2019 she has enjoyed the honor of hand-painting silk scarves to be given as gifts of state by the Indiana Governor. Carrie teaches silk painting to both beginners and the advanced.​
ABOUT DANNY
Looking at life differently has always been a part of who he is and how he expresses himself in his art. Starting in Muncie, he was a syndicated humor cartoonist and is now an animator, puppeteer, musician, and video and motion graphics designer. He loves to teach and discuss an odd assortment of things from gypsy jazz and Bossa Nova music, to venomous reptiles, Scripture, the creative process, humor, architecture, food culture, gardening, drawing, editing, criticism, assortments of lore from a wide variety of disciplines, masks, sculpture, design, composition, how-to books, print, literacy, sub-cultures, conspiracy theories, storytelling, movies, recording and recordings. He sincerely hopes his art will cause smiling. "My humor comes from my childhood, and I hope feels like a roller-coaster in that I want it to come from stability and yet feel unsafe."

Danny and Carrie both grew up in Muncie and very much enjoy their lives together living in the Old West End.
